Let us tell you, April hits that sweet spot. Not too hot, not too cold.
During the day, the temperatures can reach around 18-20°C, perfect for hiking, cycling, and golfing without feeling like a sweaty mess. Nights can get a tad cooler, think 10-11°C.
Sunrise is around 6:45 AM and sunset is at 7:45 PM, giving you almost 13 hours of daylight to soak up the sun.
April can be a bit of a wildcard with rain. Some years it's super sunny, others you might get a couple of showers (6-8 days on average). Again, nothing a light jacket or umbrella can't handle. If it does rain, it usually clears up pretty quickly.
The sea temperature in April is around 16-17°C, which is still a bit chilly for swimming. However, it's the perfect time to try out water sports like surfing, windsurfing, and paddleboarding.
From April to November, dolphin-watching in the Algarve is an absolute treat. When you're cruising along the beautiful coastline, soaking up the sunshine, suddenly a pod of dolphins pops up, frolicking in the waves. Pretty magical, right? Plus, the weather in April is perfect for boat tours, so it's a win-win.
Can a trip to the Algarve really be complete without visiting its stunning, golden beaches? We don’t think so. With fewer eyes around, we have two fantastic options for you to explore: Praia da Marinha and Praia do Carvalho.
Both are lovely beaches with calm waters, beautiful scenery, and that romantic, honeymoon-worthy vibe. Whether you're in the mood for a relaxing stroll or just want to soak up the atmosphere, these beaches are must-visits.

The Algarve isn't just about beaches (although between us, they are pretty amazing!). It also has some old towns that come with their own character.
Wander the cobbled streets of Ferragudo and Tavira and maybe even learn a thing or two about the area. And if you’re after something a bit cooler and more refreshing, head to Monchique.

With spring in full bloom, April is one of our favorite months, especially with the Easter celebrations.
The weather is warm and comfortable; the crowds are lively yet manageable, and the prices are much more reasonable. While sunny days are perfect,a bit of rain can dampen the mood.
Still, you can’t also really go wrong with choosing the Algarve in April as it’s the best time for vacation before things start getting hectic. And no matter who you're traveling with, as a solo or with family, you’ll find there’s loads to do and enjoy here.
