March in the Algarve marks the transition from winter to spring. As temperatures rise slightly, the region comes alive with flowers and the weather starts feeling more pleasant, although it can be pleasant all year long.
Daytime temperatures sit around 17-19°C and nighttime can drip to 9-10°C. It’s still not as warm as the summer months, but very comfortable for outdoor exploration and sightseeing.
March brings around 8-10 days of rain, with a total of about 40-50mm. It’s still one of the wetter months.
The sunrise is around 7:00 AM, and the sunset is around 6:30 PM, offering close to 11.5 hours of daylight. You can cover a lot of activities during this time.
The sea remains cool, averaging around 16°C. So, while you can enjoy coastal walks, it’s still a tad bit cooler for sunbathing or lounging by the pool.
