How many days in the Algarve is enough?

The ideal number of days to spend in the Algarve entirely depends on your interests, preferences, and the places you want to see. For the best experience we recommend staying 5 to 7 days. But spoken as a true travel enthusiast, we would say the more the better.

What is the best month to visit the Algarve?

Pretty much, most of the year. But let us expand on that.

Our personal favorites are the months June and September. But don’t miss out on the winter months, from November to February. Sure, it’s cooler but there are a lot of sunny days with nice temperatures. Just remember to pack a sweater, pants, and a pullover for those cooler evenings.

Do you need a car in the Algarve?

The answer is a definitive yes.

If your accommodation is in the center of the town you can get around on foot for many activities.

However, for exploring other parts of Carvoeiro and the rest of the Algarve regions, a car is a must. It’s by far the easiest and most convenient way to get around.

What airport do you fly to for the Algarve?

If you’re flying to the Algarve, Faro Airport (FAO) is your best bet. It’s the closest airport to towns like Carvoeiro and Lagos and has flights from all over Europe, thanks to airlines like Ryanair, TAP Air Portugal, Brussels Airlines, Transavia, and British Airways.
