When planning your vacation in the Algarve, we highly recommend that you consider staying in Carvoeiro. Here’s why: Carvoeiro is centrally located in the Algarve, so it’s really in the middle of everything. You can relax on gorgeous beaches, and explore hidden coves, all while being a short few minutes away from the town center for shopping or dining.
It’s also super convenient to explore towns like Faro or travel to nearby regions of Tavira, Lagos, and Ferragudo. Even the West Coast is accessible for day trips.
Plus, it's only a 45-minute drive from Faro Airport, making it easy to get to from your arrival. Below are some places we recommend staying when you visit the Algarve for your vacation.
The town center is just descending the hill where you can find all sorts of restaurants, bars, and shops, offering you a taste of local cuisine. Carvoeiro Beach is also just a few steps away and they provide beach chairs and towels for people to enjoy beach days to the fullest.
The private balcony adds charm to the apartment where you can sip your morning coffee while soaking in the expansive views of the Atlantic Ocean.
It’s situated right in the middle of the Algarve, Penthouse Atlantico serves as an ideal launching point for exploring the local attractions and nearby towns.
This is our personal favorite accommodation place in the Algarve. Located on the scenic cliffs beside Praia do Carvoeiro, Penthouse Atlântico offers sea views that are out of this world in the heart of the Algarve.
Ideal for couples, this apartment combines comfort and accessibility with natural, breathtaking views.

This is another gem. Just a few steps down and voilà! You're right on Vale Centeanes beach. The apartment is decorated with taste and features a large terrace that offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the sea. Staying here you can start your day with breakfast overlooking the ocean or unwind in the evening with a glass of wine as the sun sets. And if you're driving, it's only a quick 4-minute ride from Carvoeiro Center.

Home to majestic horses and surrounded by the rolling hills of the Algarve countryside, Yoba Horse Farm is a peaceful retreat with breathtaking views over the Monchique mountains. Just a 7-minute drive from Carvoeiro centre, it’s close enough to the action yet far enough to truly disconnect.
Wake up to fresh air and the gentle sounds of nature, take a morning dip in the pool, and sip your coffee while overlooking the landscape. And if you love horses, this place is even more special—watch them graze in the fields or experience the joy of riding through scenic trails.

The ideal number of days to spend in the Algarve entirely depends on your interests, preferences, and the places you want to see. Spoken as a true travel enthusiast, we would say the more the better. But here are some suggestions:
If you’re short on time, a brief visit of 3 to 4 days to some of the famous beaches like Praia da Marinha will give you a taste of what the Algarve has to offer.
The longer, the better. We highly recommend staying in the Algarve for at least 7-8 days. This way, you will get the best impression of the region and truly immerse yourself in the diversity of the experiences. In one week, you’ll be able to explore the iconic Benagil Cave and golden sands of Praia dos Caneiros, while relaxing in the charming town of Carvoeiro.

We would say yes. It’s not really the best idea to take public transportation in the Algarve. Either there are fewer buses, or their schedules are unreliable. Considering this, traveling by car is a good option because it offers flexibility and convenience. Uber is also a great option if renting a car is not an option for you.
